Things to buy for puppy

Below are the basics you will need to consider

Bed - plastic is best, but a defiant no is a wicker bed, this will get chewed and pieces can get stuck in their throat or tummies

Bowls - food bowl should be a stainless steel bowl and water should be ceramic so that it can't be knocked over or used as a toy, plastic bowls will be chewed

Toys - puppies love soft toys they can get their teeth into or small rope toys, Kong toys filled with treats to keep them ocupied and their imagination working

 

Collar & Lead - it is advisable to wait until your puppy has had arrived home before considering a collar as they grow very quickly and sizing is very difficult, get puppy used to their collar before you begin to walk them on a lead

Food - Puppies 8-12 weeks old should be fed 4 times a day, this can be reduced to 3 times a day after that then by 5 months twice a day, you should follow the recommended guidance from the food manufacture that you are feeding, but you should feed a good quality complete food  

other items to consider

Create or Pen - Keeping you puppy safe when you cannot watch them is essential, a reasonable sized play pen or create is a good way of keeping them safe, they will need room to sleep, play and toilet area

Treats - These are idea for rewarding puppy during training or to settle them down at night, these should be given in moderation to prevent weightgain
